Jayde & Carrie
In the Emanuela Gown
A GLL woman is to you…
Natural, Bohemian, Elegant.
What is it you loved about your GLL gown and accessories?
I was having quite a lot of trouble finding a dress as we live remotely so I was unable to visit many wedding dress stores. After trying many online cheaper alternative white gowns, I was unsure what I would do. When GLL released their Elixir collection online I just fell in love with the Emanuela straight away. I loved the simple elegant style with the unique fabric detailing. I happened to be in Gold Coast for one day and was lucky enough to sneak a last minute appointment at their showroom while my husband was surfing. As soon as I tried the dress on, I just loved it. The combination of the elegant laces with the fun edgy patterns was perfect for the wedding style we wanted. The dress was also so comfortable and moved so well, it felt so natural.
Describe your wedding day look…
Relaxed, Elegant and Natural.
How did he propose?
Jayde planned a surprise holiday to the Daintree Rainforest for our 10 year anniversary. On the morning we left, he told me we were going camping for a week in the rainforest, I was so excited. After driving 800km, he suggested we look for a ‘hidden camp site’ then he surprised me by checking into a secluded luxury rainforest retreat for the weekend. The morning of our anniversary we hiked to a secret waterfall. We swam across the cascades to a small beach where he proposed. It was a magical weekend.
What was your goal for your wedding / what was the most important aspect to you?
The most important aspect to us was to share a whole weekend with our family and friends. We live interstate so spending the quality time together was really important to us.
Also, we have always wanted a small backyard wedding with a casual but intimate vibe. We didn’t want to get too caught up in the details and really keep with the ‘backyard’ style wedding we have always wanted.
The funniest moment on the day was…
Jayde’s speech, it was hilarious, sweet and really reflected his personality perfectly.
What was the most stressful part to planning?
There wasn’t anything that was particularly stressful about planning our wedding. Living interstate meant we had to book everything over the internet without viewing or trialing but I think in the end that worked perfectly for the casual backyard style we wanted. Living remotely also meant I wasn’t able to try on any wedding dresses…Luckily GLL came to the rescue.

Don’t get too caught up in the details and remember what the day is its all about. Also, be sure to slow down and take it all in… Time flies by.
