A GLL woman is to you…

A unique, authentic woman who exudes confidence and class!

How did you decide on your GLL gown and accessories?

I saw the Francis gown online and instantly fell in love but then found out the only way I could try it on was if I went to Australia — which wasn’t going to happen. Thereafter, I visited several boutiques in the LA area but none of the dresses I tried on gave me that “this is the one” feeling.  About a month later, just as I was starting to think I was never going to find a dress, GLL announced that they were opening a showroom in Los Angeles! It was as if all the stars were aligning! I went in with my sister and when I put the Francis gown on I couldn’t stop smiling. It felt so natural and I knew right then and there that I had found the one!

Describe your look in three words…

Simple, timeless, feminine

How did he propose?

Jason and I decided to take a road trip up to Ojai, CA for a little weekend getaway. When we arrived at the Ojai Valley Inn the Receptionist suggested we go see the Rose Garden that night because it was going to be off limits the rest of the weekend for a wedding. I loved the idea but by the time we got to our room and got ready the sun had already set. Since it was dark out I tried to steer Jason away from the idea but he was insistent on going. As we were walking through the garden he completely shocked me and got down on one knee to propose! From there he said we had dinner reservations at the restaurant on site so we made our way there and as I walked in I was surprised by 20 of our closest family members and friends who traveled from all over to celebrate with us. To this day, I am still in shock that he was able to pull off that big of a surprise!

What was your goal for your wedding / what was the most important aspect to you?

Ultimately, we wanted everyone to have a good time and feel like they were at an intimate, backyard dinner party!

The funniest moment on the day was…

When my Dad and the Groomsmen surprised me with a performance of the Haka! My Dad, who’s from Tahiti, wanted to incorporate our heritage into the wedding so he proposed the idea to the groomsmen and they all loved it. Watching them was hilarious and something I will never forget!

What was the most stressful part to planning?

I think the month before the wedding is the most stressful part because it’s when all the little things you can’t do in advance start to pile up (think rsvp’s, seating charts, meal selections, last minute details, etc). It can be very overwhelming but try to delegate tasks to family and friends – they’re typically willing to help!

Eat healthy, exercise and get quality sleep! Also, a little tan and teeth whitening doesn’t hurt.

Any last advice or words of wisdom that you can share…

You only get married once – so go the extra mile where you can! It’s definitely going to be a lot of work but if it’s for the right reasons there are few things more magical than an amazing, love affirmed wedding!
