A GLL woman is to you…

Confident, Effortless and Radiant.

What is it you loved about your GLL gown and accessories?

I’ve been a huge GLL fan for as long as I can remember. The gowns are beautifully unique and embody the exact look/feel l was envisioning for my wedding. I visited the LA showroom and knew I was in the right place – it was truly a magical experience. In searching for ‘The One’, I had a few specific qualities I was looking for (sleeves, a deep-V neckline & a long train) and the Francis Gown checked all my boxes. I have never felt more beautiful.

I paired the dress with the Dosa heels in white, Henri veil, simple diamond earring studs, and a blue diamond ring (blue & borrowed from my mom). I also wore the Cyd Set for my rehearsal dinner that I paired with Salita Earrings. To top it off, I purchased the Tia Leather Slides for our honeymoon in Bali. GLL was definitely was a one-stop shop for me!

Describe your look in three words…

Bohemian, Ethereal and Elegant

How did he propose?

For a quick back story, Mark and I first met at college in Dallas over summer school. We discovered that we were both headed to Lake Tahoe to spend the rest of our summer with family. Not only was the fact that we would be in the same town a huge coincidence, but we found out that our parents had houses on the lake exactly one block away from each other. From that summer on, I knew he was the one.

Fast forward six years, Mark and I were both back in Lake Tahoe for Christmas with each of our families. Mark invited me for dinner the day after Christmas and came over to pick me up. He suggested we walk back to his place and cut through the beach since it was such a beautiful day. We walked to the end of the pier to ‘take a picture’, but instead he got down on one knee & popped the question – back where it all began. By the time we walked in from the dock, both our families were eagerly waiting for us with champagne in hand!

What was your goal for your wedding / what was the most important aspect to you?

My goal for the wedding was for it to be completely different than a traditional wedding, and feel like one big party. The most important aspect to me was for everyone to have the best time and to be comfortable. We knew that Palm Springs can be very warm, so we had fresh coconuts available for guests as they arrived and wooden hand fans on every seat.

The funniest moment on the day was…

One of the funniest moments of the day was during our ceremony. After I approached the altar, Mark (per habit) leaned in to kiss me. We both weren’t thinking, but it hit us at the same time that we couldn’t kiss yet! Startled, we stopped and leaned back, as the guests burst out in laughter. Also, our french bulldog, Mila was the flower girl. She had her own flower crown and everything. Her walking down the aisle was just too cute!

What was the most stressful part to planning?

I’m a very visual person, so it was nerve-wracking to not be able to physically see exactly how everything was going to look until the day. I’m a bit of a perfectionist, so I wanted everything to be just right. Working a full-time job on top of planning a wedding was definitely stressful too.

Any top beauty/health/fitness or wedding preparation advice that you can share…

My biggest wedding prep advice is to drink lots of water, get lots of sleep and take good care of your skin. I used a hydrating exfoliant masque 3-4 times every week for three months leading up to the wedding and noticed a huge difference in the brightness of my skin (even with makeup on)!

Any last advice or words of wisdom that you can share…

Enjoy every moment and don’t stress every single detail. When it comes down to it you’re marrying the love of your life, surrounded by your favourite people, all in one dreamy place – it doesn’t get much better than that!
