In the Inca Gown

Congratulations on your recent wedding, you looked stunning! Tell us how and why you chose your GLL gown?

I had been searching interstate for a gown with my older sister and it was actually a surprisingly disappointing experience! I just couldn’t find something that was very ‘me’, every dress I tried on felt awkward and I could tell by my sister’s face the dresses looked awkward too! So I flew back to Brisbane to re-group my thoughts and as I was scrolling through Instagram I saw the GLL Inca. It was sexy, elegant, and most importantly different from what I had previously seen. So I booked an appointment to try it on and the rest is history!

So tell us, how did you both meet?

We actually met in high school, grade 9. We hung out with the same people but never became anything more than friends. We then ran into each other at a bar in our early 20s and hit it off.

Was it love at first sight or was it a slow burn kinda situation?

I guess you would say slow burn kinda situation because we knew each other for so long. It was like something finally clicked in our 20s, I think all that high school drama was over and we could just be ourselves.

And the proposal? How did that go down?

We were on holidays in Fiji. Luke and I were just relaxing on the beach reading our books. I was pretty engrossed in my book but I noticed he was kind of fidgety and looking around. I started to think maybe he was sick or something bad had happened, then he got down on one knee… then it all made sense!

How did you feel on your day and how did you style your GLL look?

I wanted to feel relaxed as I possibly could on the day, so I kept my style fairly simple and straightforward. I usually wear my hair out so I did the same on the day, except I added a headpiece by Jennifer Behr and had the GLL Gabriela veil to top it off. I’m a jewellery person, so it was hard to restrain from wearing my usual pieces, so I went for a pair of emerald green Dolce and Gabbana earrings that reflected a bit of that romantic italic glamour I love so much.  My shoes were a neutral strappy heel so as not to distract from the amazing Inca 😉

Where was the wedding?

Sirromet Winery, Laguna for the ceremony and Barrel Hall for the reception.

Describe your wedding in 3 words…

Romantic, magical, and real.

Any top tips or advice you can give fellow GLL brides (beauty, health & wellness, planning etc)

If you hire experienced vendors then don’t be afraid to trust them completely. They usually do this type of thing at least once a week, so sit back and enjoy this special day (it will go very quickly!).

Describe your GLL experience…

My GLL experience has been amazing. My dress and my bridesmaids’ dresses were perfect and really helped shape the vision and style of the wedding as the date drew near. The girls at GLL were lovely and I can honestly say their genuine interest in my wedding and styling was a refreshing experience.

What does marriage mean to you?

Mostly that you’ve got a partner to go through life with, someone who will be by your side to enjoy the good and to be there to support you with the bad.
