Naïla & Lachlan in Vittoria & Juliette

A love story that began in the ocean, a ring-bearing labrador and a day where Pinterest planned the details and love filled in everything else.

"Home is how I feel when I'm with him."

Their first real conversation happened in the ocean. Lachlan asked Naïla how she was finding Australia, and not long after, he followed up with a link to a music festival and a newsletter he sent to friends about upcoming events. "I loved that he was the kind of person who brings people together," she says. They shared their first kiss at that festival, and after that, they caught up almost every day.

It took a trip back to France for Christmas – without him – for Naïla to truly understand what she had found. "I found myself counting down the days until I could return to Australia." When she finally saw him again, something settled. "It felt magical, like I was back with my best friend. That's when I realised that home is simply how I feel when I'm with him."

A Proposal by the Lake, the Easiest ‘Yes’ Ever

Lachlan organised a weekend away at his aunt and uncle's farm just outside of Canberra – the perfect setting for two people who dream of one day living on a hobby farm. They spent the weekend feeding cattle, spotting wombats and kangaroos, and riding on the back of trucks with their dog, Captain.

On the Saturday, he surprised Naïla with a picnic on an electric boat on Lake Burley Griffin. It was "hilariously windy," and the boat barely moved – but eventually they found a sheltered spot. At just the right moment, Lachlan handed the ring to Captain in a little bag. She walked over and dropped it perfectly into Naïla's lap. When she looked up, Lachlan was down on one knee, proposing in French.

"It was the easiest yes ever."

A Pinterest Wedding That Came to Life

Like many couples, Naïla and Lachlan had turned to Pinterest while planning their wedding. What they didn't expect was for Pinterest to plan it back. To launch their 2026 Wedding Trends report, Pinterest hosted the couple's wedding at their Sydney HQ on Park Street – bringing to life all the creative ideas people had been searching for online. The couple handed over almost all creative control, and what unfolded was something entirely its own.

Because so little had been revealed to them, almost every moment was a surprise. A pop-up fragrance bar. A voicemail guestbook. An entire serrano ham station. "Every corner we turned there was something new. It honestly felt like stepping into a movie."

The space itself was dressed in rich burgundy and moss green fabrics, draped throughout to create something that felt, all at once, dramatic and intimate. Guests sipped Champagne as the city stretched out below them at sunset, and somehow it all still managed to feel warm. "It brought everyone together."

The ceremony had its own scene-stealer. Captain – their labrador, dressed in a white collar and matching bow – carried the rings down the aisle and followed it up with a high five to the groom in front of the entire crowd. "She's a core part of our lives that we could never be without. She also made all the photos so much more fun and full of personality."

Two Gowns, One Perfect Day

Naïla didn't just find one dream Grace gown. She found two.

She began the day in the Como Satin Robe while getting ready, then stepped into the Vittoria gown with the Alchemy veil for the ceremony. For cocktail hour, the veil came off and the Roma neck tie went on. For the reception, she changed into the Juliette dress.

"Every piece felt so uniquely special and completely 'me'. I genuinely have never felt more beautiful."

The Vittoria had been the very first gown she tried on. "Something just clicked. It felt romantic, timeless and elegant, while still having that modern edge I was looking for." The intricate lace and delicate button details drew her in immediately. Adding the Alchemy veil felt natural – with its matching lace – gave the whole look a more contemporary edge without losing any of its romance.

Then came the Juliette. "I had the complete opposite reaction in the best way possible. It made me feel confident, fun and a little bit sexy while still feeling classy and elegant." Together, both gowns reflected the different sides of her personality and the arc of the day itself.

Her experience at the Grace Loves Lace boutique was equally memorable.

"Every time I went in, I honestly had the best time. I will forever be grateful for Zac and all his help. He was so patient and supportive – it never felt overwhelming or pressured, more like I was just hanging out with friends."

Advice to Future Grace Brides

Her advice to future Grace brides? "Trust your gut and choose the dress you can't stop thinking about. There's so much noise when it comes to weddings, but the only opinion that matters is yours. When you find the one that makes you feel great, that's it. Don't second guess it."
