Kate and Kate in the Orla Gown

An intimate ceremony at The Post Office Hotel in Melbourne, Australia, with amazing food, a warm and familiar atmosphere, and dancing into the night.

It All Began with a Follow

It all began with a follow. Kate L spotted Kate M on Instagram, drawn in by that familiar blue tick and AFL Women’s League status. A mutual follow turned into weeks of late-night FaceTime calls, Uber Eats drop-offs, and virtual movie marathons. Eventually, the two met in person at Gate 1 of the Qantas terminal, marking their beginning.

Time passed, and along with it came a shared sense of humour, a rivalry over ring choices, and a perfect August afternoon at Zonzo Estate Winery. Kate M., ever the planner in disguise, organised a quiet surprise during a post-exam lunch. What seemed like a joke to Kate L was anything but—captured in a single frame, the look of disbelief and joy sealed the moment in time.

An Intimate Ceremony in Melbourne, Australia

The couple chose to honour their story close to home, in Melbourne’s inner north. The Post Office Hotel in Coburg, warm and familiar, became the backdrop for a heartfelt gathering of those who mattered most. The mood was effortless and grounded. Music pulsed. Glasses clinked. There were tears (good ones) and laughter that lingered well into the night. We wanted a venue close to Melbourne and somewhere we could truly have everything: an intimate ceremony, an epic dance floor, amazing food, and free-flowing drinks, and that is exactly what we got,” shares Kate M.

Orla, in the City

Kate M. wore the Orla Gown, something she’d spotted online and instantly claimed as her own. It was the first and only look she tried, needing no comparison. Clean lines, lace texture, and a silhouette that moved with ease it felt like her. No second-guessing, no hesitation. Just clarity. It was so easy. I booked in, told the stylist what I liked and why I liked the gown, and left knowing I had found my dress, says Kate M.
