Christopher and Madison in the Suki Gown
With cliffside vows and panoramic ocean views, Madison and Chris tied the knot at QP Bistro in Barbados, surrounded by over 100 of their closest friends and family.
The Beginning of Forever
Some love stories begin with fireworks; others start with friendship. For Madison and Chris, it was the latter, a connection that felt easy and fun from the beginning. They met during university and clicked instantly, though the romance didn’t come until later. “We weren’t exactly sure what it would turn into at first,” Madison says. “But even then, there were a few telltale signs.”
After graduation, both returned to their hometown, and something shifted. What had once been casual catch-ups and easy banter began to take root as something deeper. “There wasn’t a big, dramatic moment; it was just natural, comfortable and real,” she says. “With Chris, I never had to be anyone but myself. He has this incredible positive energy that makes everything feel lighter.”
In February 2024, they returned to one of their favourite places: Barbados. Madison had been told they were all heading to a happy hour for her pregnant sister’s gender reveal. “I wore a blue dress thinking it was a ‘team blue or pink’ situation.” But when Chris suggested a quick detour to the beach for a photo and showed up in a pressed dress shirt, she started to get suspicious.
Moments after she said “yes,” they turned around to find all their family and friends cheering and celebrating behind them. “Needless to say, no gender reveal happened that night,” she says.

A Coastal Destination Wedding in Barbados
The wedding took place back in Barbados, at the couple’s favourite destination: QP Bistro, a cliffside restaurant overlooking the sea. With 110 guests gathered, the ceremony unfolded against an ocean horizon that had long been part of the bride’s family story; her mother had been visiting the island since she was 14. “It’s always felt like home,” she says.
They chose their wedding venue as it felt like the perfect place to begin their new chapter. “Perched on a cliff with the most incredible ocean views, amazing food, and the kindest staff, it felt like the dream spot for us,” Madison says.
Looking around and seeing their loved ones, many who had travelled thousands of miles, was unforgettable. “It was overwhelming in the best way. That kind of love and support is something we’ll never forget.”
A Dress Worth the Wait
When it came to finding a dress, Madison searched for months before stepping into our Toronto boutique. “My expectations were low, and I wasn’t convinced I would have that ‘yes’ moment,” she says. But Suki, with her sleek satin, plunging neckline and elegant train, was exactly what the bride was looking for. “It flattered my body in all the right ways, and for the first time, I truly felt beautiful.”
Madison went to her bridal appointment with her two best friends by her side. “The team at GLL were so kind and attentive and walked me through all the different ways the dress could be styled; they made the whole experience feel effortless,” the bride shares.
