Cody & Cassie
In the Alexandra Gown
Tell us a little bit about your engagement story?
We were in Dubai on a 6 week trip for Cody’s brother’s wedding. One day we woke up and Cody said today was all about me and that we would do anything I wanted (so we went straight to Dubai mall). After spending the day shopping (and Cody not complaining) he said he had organized dinner for us, without knowing where we were going we got into a car and ended up at Atlantis the Palms Hotel. I have a massive obsession with animals and in particular Sharks. Atlantis has an amazing five star restaurant called ‘Ossiano’ which is under the hotel and is surrounded by an aquarium, we ate the most amazing meal surrounded by fish in the most beautiful environment. After dinner on the way home we pulled into the Dubai fountain which plays a massive show to music every hour, as we were watching the show underneath the Burj Khalifa Cody started saying the most beautiful things to me at which point I turned around and found him on one knee with the exact ring which he told me a couple of months ago that we could never afford because of our overseas trip… he did good.
What first attracted you to your partner?
His humour, he cracks me up all the time.
Where did you get inspiration from for your wedding?
Pinterest – that site is amazing, it gave us a ton of ideas to get our love of nature into a style which suited us.
What was your most memorable moment?
There was a moment on the day after the ceremony where we were taken down to the tennis court for photos and for a few minutes we were left alone and we just starting dancing. A funny memory was our dog Billy was part of the ceremony and he thought it would be a great idea to eat half of our wedding cake when no one was watching. The whole feeling of the day was just one of love and laughter… I think that is what we will remember most.
What is your tip of advice for future brides?
Pay the extra for a good photographer and videographer that cover everything. We could not be any happier with the work that Kat Stanley did with our photos and what Gold Bear did with our wedding film. They did such a good job of capturing the laughter and feel of the day. When we look at the photos or watch the film we instantly slip straight back into the feelings we had that day.
How would you describe Grace Loves Lace in a sentence?
I feel the collection is elegantly vintage, it’s casual with style and that perfect amount of feminine touch.
How did you choose your GLL dress?
After a horrible experience at another bridal boutique, Bec from GLL eased me in to comfort and I took her genuine advise on board and put on the stunning white Alexandra and there could not have been a better dress for me.
What jewellery and accessories did you wear?
Rose gold jewellery with a floral headpiece for the reception.
What did your partner wear?
